This Hubble Space Telescope palette Narrow Band image comprises very limited data, 3 x 1200s for each NB filter: SII, Ha and OIII; totaling only 3 hours integration. The data channels are combined in the format SHO a combination made famous by the Hubble Space Telescope and aims to clearly delineate the gaseous structure of the nebula.
This target is a popular image residing in the constellation of Cepheus. NGC 7380 is an open cluster discovered by Caroline Herschel in 1787. William Herschel included his sister's discovery in his catalog, and labelled it H VIII.77. It is also known as 142 in the 1959 Sharpless catalog (Sh2-142), source Wikipedia.
Taken using a Willliam Optics FLT132 at F5.6; 10 Micron GM1000HPS; QSI683-wsg; Astrodon 5nm NB filters; all subs are unguided. Data captured September 2016. The image is presented in a portrait orientation.
